To meet the growing trend towards production without human intervention, companies are increasingly focusing on the integration of technologies and strategies capable to guarantee continuous production flows.

For this reason OPEN, thanks to the experience acquired in metalworking with machine tools, has developed high-pressure coolant systems that improve tool life, the quality of component machining, the stability and safety of the machining process.

OPEN produces high-pressure coolant systems that improves the phases of manufacturing process.

High-pressure coolant transfers to the liquid the heat generated between tool and workpiece during cutting phase.
The cooling of the machining area allows to minimize tool wear by extending its life, and to use high cutting speeds.

High-pressure coolant significantly contributes to chips evacuation from holes and deep cavities, reducing cycle times, avoiding manual interventions.

The essential condition for having an efficient high pressure coolant system is that the coolant filtration equal to or less than 60 µm is guaranteed.

Systems

PAPS high-pressure coolant systems are highly configurable in the size of the tanks, the filtration methods, the number and the characteristics of the pumps.

PAPS products find application on machining Centers, lathes and turning/milling Centers, and have been developed and tested in hundreds of installations for different types of material, from steel to cast iron, from titanium and aluminium alloys to carbon fiber.

In the simplest machines, filtration is guaranteed by two series of filter cartridges with differentiated filtration and clogging sensor. In more complex machines, filtration is mainly carried out by an hydrocyclone fed in a continuous cycle, assisted by a double static filter or, alternatively, by a self-cleaning roto-filter. In the processing of cast iron and steel, the use of a magnetic separator can be envisaged and useful, always combined with the hydrocyclone.

Particular attention is paid to the temperature of the coolant and, depending on the needs and applications, fully integrated refrigerators can be used for cooling the liquid and / or speed controllers of the high-pressure pump to reduce the heat input to the liquid from the pump itself, when the liquid passage sections vary.

Manual regulation valves of the maximum pressure, proportional valves with manual or automatic regulation finally allow to vary the maximum liquid pressure.

Centrifugal pumps and screw pumps have been carefully selected to guarantee constant performance over time. In particular, the screw pumps have silicon carbide liners and special steel ground screws.

PAPS standard products have a maximum pressures of 25, 40, 50 and 70 bar, and use filtration technologies that respect the environment.

To ensure simultaneous internal and external lubrication of the spindle, an additional multistage centrifugal pump is used.

In the Compact version there is a single tank, in the Standard version there are two tanks to ensure, regardless of the shape of the machine tool, flow continuity to the hydro-cyclone.

PAPS products can be supplied with electrical cabin and PLC to make immediate and simple the connection with the machine tool.
